Thanks to the movie “AVATAR”, another Sanskrit word has made its way into pop culture. AVATAR In the Bhagavad Gita – a Sanskrit text at least 5,000 years old, the Supreme Lord says: “I descend within matter at certain historic moments, appearing in my eternal form, just as you see Me now. Whenever and wherever there is a decline in spiritual consciousness, violation of the laws of Nature and harm to innocent beings, at that time I descend. I Myself appear in person, at regular intervals, to deliver the gentle and holy souls and to oppose the tyrants and evil rulers, as well as to re-establish the principles of living in harmony with Nature.” The yogic knowledge of ancient India offers profound stories of the times when various avatars descended to Earth. In this series Jeffrey will describe the true meaning of “Avatar” and illumine the various forms Avatars have taken. In a story-telling format you will learn most colorful and mind expanding stories from Earth’s history!
