Jeffrey Armstrong (Kavindra Rishi) is a best-selling author of numerous books including an award-winning book of poems “The Night We First Met, a Mystic Journey”, and most recently a decolonized, clear and elegant translation of the Bhagavad Gita titled “The Bhagavad Gita Comes Alive”.
He is also a Jyotishi, Vedic Scholar and Mystical Poet. He was initiated in 1970 and spent five years in the ashrams of AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He studied Sanskrit with the Benares Pundit Prof. Ramanath Sharma, Jyotish with the illustrious Jyotirvid M.K. Gandhi. In addition, he assisted his guru in editing various books, including the Bhagavat Purana.
Many will remember the widely renowned “Change of Heart” album, plus three others, “Nature’s Secret”, “Take Me Back” and “Excuse My Soul” from that same era. Jeffrey wrote or edited many of the lyrics on those albums which were composed and performed by Michael Cassidy.
Patrick Bernard, an award-winning Vaisnava musician and performer, who went on to Grammy fame, also composed and orchestrated an album of Jeffrey’s poems called “There is Only One Love”. Finally, the world-famous composer, musician, and vocalist-Thomas Barquee, created the album “Trust”, with an enchanting and elegant collection of mystical/romantic poems written by Jeffrey.
Come experience an evening of mystical love poems dedicated to the beauty and sacred romance of Shri Radha Krishna the Supreme Divine Couple. This is an expression of the possibility of the ultimate intimacy and profound emotion one can share with the Divine, according to the Bhakti Yoga tradition of the Vaishnava mystics.
