Uttarayana - the Northern Gate
Uttarayana-the Northern Gate
Today the Northern Gate to the Deva Realm is wide open for the last time until the Winter Solstice. This is the day of peak solar manifestation, when the masculine Divine in His most noble and brilliant form, is shining forth to empower all atmas who are willing to fill their being with sunshine as the direct link to the immortal realms of Brahman.
Drink this amrita O flickering mortals! Invite that joyous light into the darkened hallways of your physical vehicle. Light the lamps in the damp hallways of the pyramid that is your dense body. Invite the Light! Invite the Light! Invite the Light!
Om Hring Kling Shring Suryaya Namaha

The Song of a Sun Inside
The summer light
Lasted half the night
When the Solstice had just gone by,
The electric blue
Cast an eerie hue
Like a soul that will never die.
.
And I longed to rest
On the purple breast
Of my dusky slumber maid
But I could not sleep
In her arms or keep
The meeting which we had made.
.
So I closed my eyes
From the glaring skies,
Seeking in darkness to hide
But the black was gone,
Now a rosy dawn
Sang the songs of a Sun inside.
.
Then that amber orb,
with a pulsing throb,
Rose up within my mind
And the shining globe
Shed its silken robe
Burning until I was blind.
.
Blind to the sky,
Blind to the I,
Bound by flesh and skin,
Blind to my ego,
Blind to the shadow,
The Sun rose up from within.
.
Now the black of space,
Once an empty place,
Became a realm of endless love,
An ocean of bliss,
Waves of happiness,
Came crashing down from above.
.
On a golden mountain,
A silver fountain
Sends forth streams of light,
Beneath towering trees,
With jewels for leaves,
Flows the river of my delight.
.
There beneath those trees
Sweet divinities
Desport themselves on the ground,
Showering tenderness,
Shining happiness,
To a concert of holy sound.
.
And that day shines yet,
Now it will not set,
In my heart, either night or day
But once in a while
On my joyful smile,
You can glimpse that eternal ray.
